Comment on The Truth About ‘Video Podcasts’ on YouTube by Kathy Colaiacovo https://www.thepodcasthost.com/business-of-podcasting/video-podcasts-youtube/comment-page-1/#comment-58692 Fri, 29 Mar 2024 13:21:09 +0000 https://www.thepodcasthost.com/?p=55497#comment-58692 I am sooo glad to see this! The initial thought in 2021 that I needed to do a “Video podcast” held me back for almost a year trying to get my podcast started. I wish I had just jumped in the way I originally planned.

Comment on When Did Podcasts Start? A Brief History of Podcasting by Francesca Rheannon https://www.thepodcasthost.com/business-of-podcasting/when-did-podcasts-start/comment-page-1/#comment-58617 Mon, 05 Feb 2024 14:58:45 +0000 https://www.thepodcasthost.com/?p=36423#comment-58617 I started my podcast Writer’s Voice with Francesca Rheannon in 2006. It was so early, I had to explain to people what a podcast is. I called it “TIVO for the Internet.” It features interviews with authors covering a wide range of topics such as literature, politics, and social issues. Still going strong in my 19th season.

Comment on Clarity Vx vs Rx Voice De-Noise: Best Noise Reduction Plugin? by Nityanand Ram Das https://www.thepodcasthost.com/equipment/clarity-vs-rx-voice-de-noise/comment-page-1/#comment-58606 Tue, 23 Jan 2024 07:01:57 +0000 https://www.thepodcasthost.com/?p=53998#comment-58606 We have licensed Clarity Vx for our podcast editing and using our Hindenburg Pro editing app, Clarity Vx will rarely open in Hindenburg Pro on any computer we have. Big disappointment because when it opens for use, it’s a very big help to us.

Comment on Podcasting in Seasons: The Consistency Building, Burnout Cutting, Audience Growing Strategy by David https://www.thepodcasthost.com/planning/podcasting-in-seasons/comment-page-1/#comment-58526 Fri, 08 Dec 2023 12:54:50 +0000 https://www.thepodcasthost.com/uncategorised/podcasting-in-seasons/#comment-58526 I was almost on to this idea on my own, but you put a lot of clarity to it. Your “seasons” approach is a lot friendlier sounding than my “structural” approach. You also helped me focus on the learning I’m trying to convey…and I’m a teacher too!

Comment on Which Format Do the Most Popular Podcasts Use? by David Brown https://www.thepodcasthost.com/business-of-podcasting/popular-podcast-format/comment-page-1/#comment-58496 Fri, 20 Oct 2023 05:11:34 +0000 https://www.thepodcasthost.com/?p=51562#comment-58496 From that chart above, it looks like Interview shows have the most longevity by far. Particularly when looking at 50+ episodes. Or am I reading that chart wrong?

Comment on Focus and Flow: How to Thrive as a Podcaster with ADHD by Benjamin A. https://www.thepodcasthost.com/planning/podcasting-and-adhd/comment-page-1/#comment-58485 Sat, 09 Sep 2023 10:09:16 +0000 https://www.thepodcasthost.com/?p=49832#comment-58485 Mrs. Friel,

Thank you for the article, it was helpful and insightful. I currently podcast with my 13 year old so and a regular 8 year old nephew. I dont think the are diagnosed with ADHD but they are kids and have similar behavior. I have taken some the ideas you mentioned in the article. I had implemented some ideas you suggested so it made me feel I was on the right track.

I also read your article from last year about podcasts on Bandcamp. If you have a couple minutes I would love to pick your brain about bandcamp and podcasting with kids. You can sample our podcast: Chasing the Whimsy.

Thank you for your time and look forward to your response.

Comment on Why You Should Use a Video Game Controller to Edit Your Podcast by Tony https://www.thepodcasthost.com/editing-production/edit-podcast-with-video-game-controller/comment-page-1/#comment-58443 Mon, 24 Jul 2023 13:12:51 +0000 https://www.thepodcasthost.com/?p=49116#comment-58443 I used a standard game cotroller to edit video on Sony Vegas and navigate other software when had a bad back/shoulder injury a few years ago.
It was a real boon to avoid the elbow/shoulder movement when using a mouse, but I later bought a Kensington trackball which is also configurable and for me, beats a game controller into touch.

Comment on AI Still Not Taking Off With Podcasters, Survey Finds by Seth Silvers https://www.thepodcasthost.com/business-of-podcasting/ai-not-taking-off-with-podcasters/comment-page-1/#comment-58442 Thu, 20 Jul 2023 21:44:52 +0000 https://www.thepodcasthost.com/?p=48975#comment-58442 I am shocked that 42% of podcasters who participated in this survey are using AI. That is what I think the article should be. Just because its under 50% doesn’t mean it isn’t taking off. I think the fact that 42% of podcasters are using a tool that didn’t exist a year ago is crazy!
